Kia Ora, Namaste

My name is Sandeep and I am a fully registered Primary and ECE qualified teacher. My husband and my daughter Harriet are two precious gems of my life. I obtained my Master’s Degree in Education (Level-9) from Griffith University, Australia, and Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education, Level-7) from New Zealand Tertiary College, Auckland. I have been working with pre-schoolers for the last seven years.

My Teaching Philosophy is to deliver quality education and assist children in their learning journey by sharing my knowledge and experience with them. I particularly love to work with young children. I enjoy listening to their creative ideas and believe in delivering a quality education as it is the best time to develop firm learning. I will promote and implement Te Whāriki through its principles and strands in my practice. I will encourage children and whānau participation in planning and learning environment. Children’s play will be valued as their learning. I believe in biculturalism, and treaty-based education will be supported at Amberwood Preschool. I will motivate, scaffold, explain and model lessons to support children’s learning.

My role as a teacher is to discover children’s needs and understand their background, families and interests so that I can use a mix of contexts and approaches to achieve a balanced program. I acknowledge that continual learning plays a crucial role in professional development and personal growth. To be able to teach effectively, I must continuously update myself with the latest pedagogy, strategies and curriculum content. I am looking forward to building a strong relationship with the children and whānau.
